Established in 2023, The Start Up Foundation emerged in Sydney’s vibrant ecosystem with a singular vision: to propel education forward by delivering essential startup insights and training not only to the youth and those from disadvantaged backgrounds but also to the broader community.
Historically, the realm of successful startups has predominantly been reserved for those armed with advanced education and robust financial resources. This conventional setup often overshadowed the potential of our youth and those hailing from less privileged backgrounds.
The Start Up Foundation challenges this norm, striving to level the startup playing field. We firmly believe that a person’s age, financial standing, or educational history should not be the defining factors of their entrepreneurial success. Bright ideas and groundbreaking solutions come from every corner of our society, and we’re here to make sure they see the light of day.
Ideas To Start Up
Ideas To Start Up was formed in 2023 in response to ongoing requested for support in establishing new start ups. While there are many business incubators and accelerators, most of these require that entrepreneur have their business ready to go.
This is ok for people with the skill set to build their own business plan or pitch deck, but discounts the majority of people that have a great idea but can never get it down on paper.
Ideas to Start Up is a business unit of Nixon Consulting which has been providing business support since 2006 and has been providing services to the Start Up Foundation.

David Nixon is the founder of the Start Up Foundation. David Nixon has been helping organisations realise their potential for nearly 20 years. David has the skill and experience both as the owner of his own consulting business and as someone who has been around small businesses his entire life to help see you to the next level of growth.
David has had 30 years’ engineering management experience across multinationals, utilities, councils, small businesses and start-ups in numerous roles including director, board advisor, chief executive, chief operating officer, consultant, and business advisor.
